WHY SHOULD I RENT?

Hiring furniture is an ideal solution if you are facing the need to live in an area of the UK where you don’t have a home, or your home isn’t livable in yet. Hotels are extremely expensive and not homely for either yourself or your family. Renting from us ensures that you get the furniture you want, when you want.

Buying furniture is a very drawn out job with a huge capital outlay. The depreciation is large and quick and disposal is a big problem once you move. We will do all this for you with one phone call.

Alternatively, we can supply furniture to landlords and developers. We can quickly and easily furnish empty property, or even replace your old furniture with our stylish selection. (Surveys have shown that your house is likely to sell 50% quicker with professional furnishing).

HOW DO I FIND OUT COSTS?

The easiest way for us to calculate the cost of your furniture is to complete a quotation form. Alternatively, you can contact us by email, telephone, fax, or mail. With the correct information, we should be able to provide an estimate immediately.

IS THE FURNITURE NEW?

As we are a new, well funded and expanding company, all our stock will be new and can be tailored to your needs. If there is an item you particularly like that is not listed on our site, please advice us and we will endeavour to find it for you.

WHAT IF I WANT TO PURCHASE THE FURNITURE?

AC FURNITURE HIRE is happy to supply to the buy-to-let market for individual items or complete home furnishes. We are also happy to offer ‘ex-rental’ furniture that you may wish to purchase. Please contact us for more details.

DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

Yes you do have to pay a deposit. This will generally be 1 month rent, though you will be advised if this is going to be more or less. This is returnable at the end of the rental once the items are returned in good order.

HOW CAN I PAY?

Payment will be monthly, in advance. This will be by credit card, cheque, standing order or any method that is easy for you.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO TERMINATE EARLY, OR EXTEND MY CONTRACT?

If you are terminating your contract, please consult the terms and conditions (on the what we offer page) this is also very negotiable depending on circumstances. If you are extending your contract, you may well be entitled to further discounts. Please contact us for more details

WHO INSURES THE FURNITURE?

On the basis that you are responsible for the goods that we supply, it is advisable that you arrange insurance cover. If this is not possible, please advise us and we will insure the furniture with the price being incorporated in the monthly rental charge.

HOW MUCH NOTICE DO I HAVE TO GIVE FOR DELIVERY?

This will depend on the circumstances. If it is an emergency, we will endeavor to get the furniture to you ideally on the same day, though this is not always possible. The standard timeframe will be roughly a week. As we are a small company looking to help, and give you our undivided attention, we will deliver when it suits you, not when it suits us.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM RENTAL PERIOD?

There is no definitive time scale though the general idea would be around 3 months as any shorter becomes more expensive for both parties. We are more than happy to quote you a price for one day though!

DO I HAVE TO PAY VAT?

Though you have to pay Value Added Tax (currently 17.5%) initially, the majority of our clients are corporate and can reclaim the tax. In addition, under the UK Tax Law (section 74), furniture rental payments are fully deductible as a business expense.

CAN I RENT ANY FURNITURE?

You can rent any furniture you like. You can rent all the furniture from one range (Platinum, Gold or Silver), or you can mix and match as you please. For example, you can rent a bed from the Platinum range and a bedside table from the Gold range.

CAN YOU PROVIDE A RANGE OF FURNITURE SPECIFIC TO ME?

We are more than happy to provide a ‘standard inventory pack’ for you, designed by one of our interior designers. This saves you the trouble of having to choose individual items, and we guarantee our packs will match in colour and style.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR DELIVERY?

There will be a charge for delivery and this will vary depending on your location. This will be worked out by us and will be sent to you along with our estimate. Please also advise if you live at the top of a block of flats or there are any tight staircases / doorways.

HOW DO I TERMINATE MY CONTRACT?

The rental from AC FURNITURE HIRE will continue on a month to month basis unless we hear otherwise from you. Please give us only 4 days notice from when you wish the items to be picked up and we will collect them at a time suitable to you.

DO YOU PROVIDE EMERGENCY FURNISHING?

DO I HAVE TO BE PRESENT AT THE DELIVERY?

No, although please advise us if there is going to be someone else, other than you there. If it is pre-arranged, we are more than happy to pick up the keys from a nominated person nearby.

WILL YOU ARRANGE THE FURNITURE ON DELIVERY?

We will do as you request. We are happy to arrange the furniture as and where you would like it, even down to making the beds if you so wish! Obviously we will dispose of all the packaging to save you the trouble.

CAN I ADD OR REDUCE ITEMS DURING THE RENTAL PERIOD?

This will certainly be possible though obviously there will be a charge for this. Please contact us for more information.
